What is the depth of external wall insulation

130mm is the thickness of the insulation including the plaster (plaster 10mm)

What type of insulation do you use

We use Rockwool as the insulation 120mm in depth

What U Value is achieved with the external insulation

We achieve a U Value of 0.26 which is better than the required standards

Why do you use Rockwool

Rockwool is a breathable material which allows any moisture to pass from inside to outside

Rockwool is fire resistant

It is very good at compressing around any rough finishes which reduces thermal looping. Eg Pebble dash

At plinth level we fix an extruded polystyrene board. This is a hard wearing board and is water resistant
